Disclaimer
Prism is operated by Prism Learning LC (“Prism,” “we”). This page says plainly what Prism's measures, AI output, test prep and marketing screens are, and what they are not. It sits alongside our Terms, which govern your use of the service, and our AI Disclosure, which lists where AI runs.
1. Measures support decisions; they do not make them
The P-Score, class analytics and every other reading in Prism are measures of what a student has done in Prism: answers given, items worked, checks passed. They are built to help a teacher see who is ready, who is close, and who needs a different route. They are not grades, placements, diagnoses or predictions about a student, and they should not be used as the sole basis for any of those. Grades, promotion, placement and accommodations are decisions for teachers and schools, made with everything they know about a student.
2. AI output can be wrong
Lessons, practice, feedback and the Coach are produced with AI. Every written answer is checked by two reasoning models and by code before a grade lands, and the Coach is held to what the lesson taught, but these checks reduce errors rather than remove them. AI can state something confidently and be mistaken, and it can miss a nuance a teacher would catch. Review AI output before relying on it, and tell us when it is wrong. The AI Disclosure explains where AI runs and which providers process what.
3. Test prep, scores and trademarks
Prism's practice tests are our own material, written to the published structure of each exam. A practice score is an estimate of how a student might score, computed on the test maker's published scoring curve where one exists; where no curve is published the score is labeled an estimate. A practice score is not an official score and does not predict one.
SAT, PSAT and AP are trademarks of the College Board. ACT is a trademark of ACT, Inc. Neither organization is affiliated with Prism, and neither has reviewed, sponsored or endorsed Prism or its practice material.
4. Demo screens and example students
The product screens on our website and in our materials show a demo class. Students who appear in them (for example, “Maya” in a story about one student's week) are composites, not real people, and every number shown is illustrative. Nothing on the marketing site is drawn from a real school's data.
5. Other companies' names and services
Canvas, Clever, Blackboard, D2L Brightspace, Moodle, Google and Microsoft are trademarks of their respective owners. Naming them describes what Prism connects to; it does not imply a partnership or endorsement. Whether a connection is available to you depends on how your school has set up its systems. Videos embedded in lessons come from YouTube or Vimeo and play under those services' terms; links to other sites lead to content we do not control.
6. Not professional advice
Prism provides educational tools and general information. It does not provide legal, medical, psychological or special-education advice, and nothing in the product or on this site should be read as a recommendation about any individual student's needs.
7. Features, pricing and availability
We describe the product as it is when the page is written. Features, integrations and prices can change, and some pages describe programs in pilot. The product you sign up for is governed by your agreement with us, not by a description on the website.
8. Warranties and liability
The service is provided as is. The disclaimers of warranty and the limits on our liability are set out in the Terms, sections 9 and 10, and those sections control if anything here appears to differ.
