Prism uses AI throughout the product. This page lists what AI does, which providers process your data, and what to keep in mind when relying on AI output.

Providers
We send the relevant snippet of your content to a third-party AI service provider to generate the response. Our data-processing agreement with that provider prohibits them from training their foundation models on Prism user content. To see the specific provider(s) we use today, email privacy@onprism.org. We name them by category so this page stays accurate when we swap providers.
If we add a new category of provider (for example, a non-LLM model for audio or images), we'll update this page and our Privacy Policy before routing your data there.
What to keep in mind
- AI gets things wrong. Definitions can be incomplete, examples can mislead, and lesson drafts can include incorrect facts. Review before sharing with students or relying on it for instruction.
- AI can be biased.Generated content can reflect biases in training data. We've added guardrails, but we can't catch everything.
- AI doesn't replace teacher judgment. Prism is a tool to save you time, not to make decisions about students. You are the educator.
- Your content trains nothing.We don't train models on what teachers or students write. Our AI provider doesn't either, per contract.
Reporting a problem
If an AI feature produced something inappropriate, factually wrong, or harmful, email ai@onprism.org with a description and we'll look into it.
